According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in January, 2008:

  1. Alaska: 3,600
  2. District of Columbia: 0
  3. Nevada: -200

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in January, 2008:

  1. Michigan: -17,400
  2. California: -15,400
  3. Ohio: -12,200
