According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2008:

  1. Alaska: 6,200
  2. California: 2,500
  3. New Mexico: 100

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2008:

  1. Michigan: -45,800
  2. Indiana: -17,500
  3. Ohio: -10,800
