According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2008:

  1. California: 5,100
  2. Indiana: 2,900
  3. Minnesota: 2,900

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2008:

  1. Kansas: -2,500
  2. Georgia: -1,200
  3. Florida: -1,200
