According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2009:

  1. Michigan: 2,200
  2. Idaho: 400
  3. Montana: 300

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2009:

  1. California: -12,800
  2. Alaska: -4,500
  3. Illinois: -3,400
