According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2011:

  1. California: 6,700
  2. Michigan: 5,900
  3. Minnesota: 2,700

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2011:

  1. Alaska: -600
  2. Kentucky: -500
  3. Arkansas: -300
