According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2011:

  1. Michigan: 2,400
  2. Ohio: 2,200
  3. Indiana: 1,400

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2011:

  1. California: -9,300
  2. Alaska: -5,900
  3. North Carolina: -1,400
