According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2012:

  1. California: 8,100
  2. Michigan: 6,900
  3. Indiana: 4,200

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2012:

  1. Missouri: -500
  2. Alaska: -500
  3. Maryland: -100
