According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2013:

  1. Michigan: 13,300
  2. California: 10,200
  3. Indiana: 5,600

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2013:

  1. Alaska: -3,000
  2. Connecticut: -900
  3. North Carolina: -600
