According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2015:

  1. California: 8,300
  2. Kentucky: 5,400
  3. Michigan: 5,200

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2015:

  1. Alaska: -3,800
  2. Illinois: -1,300
  3. Missouri: -1,200
