According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2017:

  1. Illinois: 1,800
  2. Iowa: 1,400
  3. Michigan: 1,400

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2017:

  1. California: -2,100
  2. Alaska: -1,300
  3. Ohio: -1,200
