According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2019:

  1. Michigan: 7,800
  2. California: 7,700
  3. Indiana: 5,500

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2019:

  1. Alaska: -4,400
  2. Illinois: -2,900
  3. Ohio: -2,000
