According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2021:

  1. Michigan: 6,800
  2. California: 5,800
  3. Minnesota: 1,700

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2021:

  1. Missouri: -1,400
  2. Illinois: -1,300
  3. Alaska: -900
