According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Non-Durable Goods industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2003:

  1. California: 15,100
  2. Michigan: 2,900
  3. Maine: 1,400

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Non-Durable Goods industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2003:

  1. Alaska: -2,100
  2. Mississippi: -1,200
  3. South Carolina: -1,100
