According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Non-Durable Goods industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2006:

  1. California: 8,800
  2. Michigan: 1,900
  3. Ohio: 1,800

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Non-Durable Goods industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2006:

  1. Alaska: -2,100
  2. Alabama: -1,000
  3. South Carolina: -800
