According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Non-Durable Goods industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2008:

  1. California: 6,800
  2. Michigan: 2,600
  3. Minnesota: 1,100

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Non-Durable Goods industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2008:

  1. Alaska: -2,200
  2. Alabama: -1,600
  3. Missouri: -600
