According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Private Service Providing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2003:

  1. Maine: 13,300
  2. Oregon: 5,800
  3. Washington: 5,100

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Private Service Providing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2003:

  1. California: -74,600
  2. Florida: -48,600
  3. New York: -35,900
