According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Private Service Providing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2004:

  1. Florida: 66,600
  2. California: 64,500
  3. New York: 47,500

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Private Service Providing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2004:

  1. Alaska: -10,600
  2. Colorado: -8,400
  3. Michigan: -7,400
