According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Private Service Providing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in February, 2009:

  1. Florida: 7,200
  2. New York: 6,900
  3. Louisiana: 3,700

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Private Service Providing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in February, 2009:

  1. California: -34,600
  2. Illinois: -24,100
  3. Ohio: -17,300
