According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Private Service Providing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2010:

  1. California: 30,800
  2. Michigan: 13,500
  3. Illinois: 12,800

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Private Service Providing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2010:

  1. New York: -11,200
