According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Professional and Business Services industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2011:

  1. California: 13,400
  2. Michigan: 9,200
  3. Illinois: 5,300

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Professional and Business Services industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2011:

  1. New York: -1,700
  2. Massachusetts: -1,600
  3. District of Columbia: -600
