According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Retail Trade industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2009:

  1. Maine: 1,000
  2. Alaska: 300
  3. Delaware: 300

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Retail Trade industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2009:

  1. California: -9,900
  2. Florida: -9,500
  3. New York: -6,000
