According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Retail Trade industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2011:

  1. California: 6,800
  2. North Carolina: 2,600
  3. Michigan: 1,800

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Retail Trade industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2011:

  1. New York: -3,200
  2. Connecticut: -1,900
  3. Missouri: -1,400
