According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Retail Trade industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2013:

  1. New York: 3,500
  2. Ohio: 3,200
  3. North Carolina: 3,000

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Retail Trade industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2013:

  1. California: -3,900
  2. Maine: -400
  3. New Mexico: -100
