According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Retail Trade industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2014:

  1. New York: 9,600
  2. Michigan: 8,900
  3. Illinois: 7,000

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Retail Trade industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2014:

  1. Arizona: -800
  2. District of Columbia: -100
  3. Florida: -100
