According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Retail Trade industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2018:
- Illinois: 3,000
- Georgia: 2,000
- Alabama: 1,900

- California: -4,800
- New York: -2,400
