According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Retail Trade industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2021:

  1. California: 9,800
  2. New York: 9,300
  3. Michigan: 8,000

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Retail Trade industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2021:

  1. District of Columbia: 100
  2. North Dakota: 200
  3. Alaska: 300
