According to recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the 3 U.S. states that added the highest not seasonally adjusted number of jobs to the Service-Providing industry in July, 2003 were:

  1. District of Columbia: 5,900
  2. Maine: 500
  3. Delaware: -2,100

On the other hand, the 3 U.S. states that added the lowest not seasonally adjusted number of jobs to the Service-Providing industry in July, 2003 were:

  1. California: -199,400
  2. Texas: -106,800
  3. Michigan: -89,200
