According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2002:

  1. Wisconsin: 3,200
  2. Illinois: 3,000
  3. Arkansas: 2,900

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2002:

  1. Minnesota: -2,300
  2. Arizona: -2,200
  3. Indiana: -2,000
