According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2005:

  1. Texas: 8,300
  2. Arkansas: 3,600
  3. Georgia: 3,400

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2005:

  1. California: -3,200
  2. Florida: -2,100
  3. North Carolina: -1,100
