According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in February, 2008:

  1. Massachusetts: 10,000
  2. Illinois: 9,700
  3. Maryland: 9,600

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in February, 2008:

  1. Nebraska: -200
  2. Delaware: 500
  3. North Dakota: 700
