According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in November, 2008:

  1. Hawaii: 5,800
  2. California: 3,100
  3. Ohio: 2,700

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in November, 2008:

  1. Alabama: -900
  2. New York: -600
  3. Georgia: -500
