According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2009:

  1. Kentucky: 3,000
  2. Illinois: 1,800
  3. Florida: 1,000

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2009:

  1. Ohio: -3,100
  2. New Jersey: -1,700
  3. Indiana: -1,200
