According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in January, 2010:

  1. Florida: 1,100
  2. Mississippi: 300
  3. Montana: -600

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in January, 2010:

  1. Maryland: -12,200
  2. Colorado: -10,800
  3. Connecticut: -9,900
