According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in June, 2011:

  1. Alaska: 300
  2. Kentucky: -1,000
  3. Mississippi: -1,100

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in June, 2011:

  1. North Carolina: -24,800
  2. Illinois: -19,100
  3. Indiana: -17,900
