According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2012:

  1. Indiana: 10,100
  2. Arizona: 6,000
  3. Kansas: 3,900

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2012:

  1. California: -4,100
  2. Connecticut: -2,700
  3. Minnesota: -2,000
