According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in February, 2012:

  1. Hawaii: 12,500
  2. Maryland: 11,500
  3. Massachusetts: 10,900

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in February, 2012:

  1. Montana: 0
  2. North Dakota: 900
  3. Mississippi: 1,000
