According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2013:

  1. California: 6,300
  2. Maryland: 2,500
  3. Ohio: 2,000

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2013:

  1. Michigan: -1,800
  2. Indiana: -1,000
  3. New Hampshire: -800
