According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2013:

  1. California: 17,100
  2. Michigan: 6,500
  3. Massachusetts: 6,200

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2013:

  1. Kentucky: -3,200
  2. Louisiana: -1,000
  3. Alaska: -400
