According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2014:

  1. Massachusetts: 2,700
  2. Illinois: 1,700
  3. Kentucky: 900

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2014:

  1. California: -27,000
  2. Hawaii: -7,000
  3. New Jersey: -4,800
