According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2014:

  1. California: 23,100
  2. Michigan: 8,900
  3. Florida: 6,400

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2014:

  1. Kentucky: -1,700
  2. Iowa: -300
  3. Alaska: -100
