According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2017:

  1. California: 1,900
  2. Nebraska: 600
  3. Hawaii: 500

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2017:

  1. Michigan: -15,100
  2. Ohio: -12,100
  3. Arizona: -10,000
