According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2019:

  1. Illinois: 1,800
  2. Massachusetts: 1,800
  3. Minnesota: 1,700

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2019:

  1. Florida: -1,300
  2. Hawaii: -1,200
  3. New Mexico: -900
