According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2020:

  1. Arizona: 10,900
  2. Georgia: 7,400
  3. Kansas: 6,000

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2020:

  1. California: -3,400
  2. Minnesota: -1,700
  3. New York: -1,600
