According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2022:

  1. California: 3,900
  2. Maryland: 1,600
  3. North Carolina: 1,600

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the State Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2022:

  1. Michigan: -13,200
  2. Florida: -7,900
  3. Ohio: -7,800
