According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Total Nonfarm industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2002:

  1. District of Columbia: 9,700
  2. Alaska: 6,300
  3. Delaware: -1,000

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Total Nonfarm industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2002:

  1. California: -227,200
  2. Texas: -121,000
  3. Michigan: -101,300
