According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Total Nonfarm industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2004:

  1. California: 114,200
  2. New York: 72,900
  3. Florida: 66,200

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Total Nonfarm industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2004:

  1. Vermont: 600
  2. South Dakota: 1,800
  3. Maine: 2,400
