According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Total Nonfarm industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2007:

  1. Illinois: 55,900
  2. Ohio: 48,500
  3. Massachusetts: 42,200

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Total Nonfarm industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2007:

  1. Florida: -48,000
  2. California: -47,300
  3. Louisiana: -11,000
