According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Total Nonfarm industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2012:
- Florida: 98,000
- California: 78,500
- North Carolina: 77,800
On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Total Nonfarm industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2012:
- District of Columbia: -14,300
- New York: -10,900
- New Jersey: -9,300
