According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Total Nonfarm industry (not seasonally adjusted) in September, 2012:
- California: 66,200
- Michigan: 50,100
- New York: 47,200
On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Total Nonfarm industry (not seasonally adjusted) in September, 2012:
- Alaska: -8,300
- Georgia: -6,100
- Maine: -2,600
