According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Total Nonfarm industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2016:
- District of Columbia: 12,900
- Alaska: 6,300
- Maine: 4,100
On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Total Nonfarm industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2016:
- California: -74,400
- North Carolina: -66,800
- Michigan: -54,900
